I recently sat down with State Sen. Brandon Beach, R-Alpharetta, to discuss the last-minute legislative wrangling over a MARTA bill in the 2015 session of the General Assembly. That’s when a half-penny tax for the transit agency, presumably for a rail extension along Georgia 400, came up for vote — and much discussion — before being killed. Beach explains why he remains bullish on MARTA’s expansion north through Fulton County. In our second column, the head of a North Fulton business organization writes that transit options are key to the area’s growth.
