Today we explore the controversy that arose when Georgia officials questioned the validity of some of the voter registrations submitted by the New Georgia Project, which seeks to enroll minorities, young adults and single women ahead of the November elections. Secretary of State Brian Kemp says the state is obligated by law to ensure the legality of the vote. Julian Bond, a former state legislator and chairman emeritus of the NAACP, calls the challenges an attempt at voter suppression.
