One pedestrian was killed and another injured within about 10 minutes Monday morning in separate incidents on I-285 in DeKalb County.

The body of a black woman was found about 8:40 a.m. along a Spaghetti Junction ramp by employees arriving for work at an office park next to the interstate, said Capt. Steven Fore of the DeKalb County Police Department.

Saquena Williams, 29, of Doraville was apparently killed in a hit-and-run accident, Fore said.

“Her injuries appeared consistent with those that would be sustained from being struck by a motor vehicle,” Fore said in an email. “Exact cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.”

About 10 minutes before the discovery of Williams’ body, another pedestrian was stuck and injured in the northbound lanes of I-285 near Memorial Drive, police said. That person’s identity and details about why he or she was on the interstate were not immediately available.

The two right lanes of I-285 northbound were blocked while police investigated the incident.
