Coralee Driggers Long was born in Stone Mountain, GA on November 22, 1937. She was the youngest child of Harvey & Stevie Driggers. Coralee graduated from Stone Mountain high school as valedictorian in 1955. In May 1958 she graduated from Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career and quickly moved up the professional ladder to administrative positions. In 1973 she became a licensed nursing home administrator. Her reputation in the nursing home community was one of excellence in patient care. Coralee was devoted to treating the elderly with dignity and respect. Her hobby was making candy. She was constantly making her special recipe, "turtles". Coralee was known for the delicious treats that came out of her kitchen. She was a member of Lilburn First Baptist. Coralee was a longtime resident of Dekalb & Gwinnett counties. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, aunt, and mother. Most importantly she was the special "mawmaw" to Hanna, Jon, Patrick & James. Coralee is survived by her husband of 62 years, Gene Long; daughters & sons-in-law, Kim & Omar Najjar of Stone Mountain, GA and Pam & Steve Wilson of Lilburn, GA; grandchildren, Jon & Ashley Wilson of Social Circle, GA, Chris & Hanna, Winnie & James of Lilburn, GA, Patrick Najjar of Athens, GA; special niece, Deborah Long of Madison, GA. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, with the service immediately follow at Wages & Sons Funeral Home 1040 Main Street Stone Mountain, GA 30083. 770-469-9811.
