HAMILTON, Byron
Byron Lamar Hamilton, age 57, of Dacula, Georgia, formerly of Norcross, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was welcomed by his Lord and Savior in Heaven as he heard "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Lamar was born on March 11, 1964 in Dekalb County Georgia to his parents, Frank L. Hamilton and Loyce Loudermilk Hamilton. He was a 1982 graduate of Norcross High School. Lamar was preceded in death by his mother, Loyce. Lamar is survived by his wife of 36 years, Melanie Grice Hamilton; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Emily Hamilton of Winder, GA; daughter, Brittany Hamilton of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Mason and Josie Grace Hamilton, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by father, Frank L. Hamilton of Dawsonville, GA; sister, Elaine Hamilton Shelnutt (Jeff) of Auburn, GA; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Bessie Grice of Duluth, GA; sisters-in-law, Wendy Brown (Craig) of Greenville, TN and Terrie Waits of Statham, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Lamar left this earth Tuesday morning after complications from Covid Pneumonia. He went peacefully in his sleep. Lamar was such a compassionate person for others, especially kids. He had the most giving heart of any man known by his family and friends. His love language was gift giving and many remember his generosity.
From his teen years, Lamar began his path to entrepreneurship by mowing lawns. This evolved into the beginning of a business he built from scratch. In 1988, he started and maintained a successful business, Hamilton Maintenance Company in Duluth, GA for over 32 years. He was talented with the ability to fix anything with high mechanical aptitude; even fabricating his own work equipment. Many called him a wealth of information. He worked diligently for his family, attentive to every need.
Lamar is now in Heaven with his Sweet mother and a healed body. Revelations 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
