When two Oregon parents learned their terminally ill daughter likely wouldn't live past Thanksgiving, they wanted to make sure she could still celebrate some of life's major milestones.
"We're not going to get the prom dance or daddy-daughter dance," Ryan Schow, father of 5-year-old Lila May Schow, said of his daughter, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma.
So Schow and Lila's mother decided to throw an epic Cinderella-themed birthday ball – complete with a prom and wedding – for their little girl.
According to KATU-TV, the efforts began when Lila's mom posted the idea to Facebook. People across the state came together to help plan the party, donating gowns, costumes, food, balloons, art, actors' services, and even a horse and carriage for Lila.
