Police in Germany say a newborn is safe after her 9-year-old brother stopped an attempted abduction.

The Associated Press reported that a 34-year-old woman in Hamburg, Germany, took the baby from the hospital room while the baby's mother was asleep.

Her quick-thinking brother followed the woman, talking to her the whole time.

She eventually handed the baby over to the boy.

Police say she was arrested and taken to a psychiatric clinic. The baby is safe thanks to her brother’s quick thinking.
