A woman's insensitive social media rant about a restaurant's service on New Year's Eve has led to her being terminated from her job.
Holly Jones took to Facebook to complain about "watching a dead person being wheeled out from an overdose" at Kilroy's restaurant in Indianapolis and used an expletive to describe the service from the staff during the medical emergency.
As it turns out, the medical emergency was not an overdose, but instead a 70-year-old woman who was having a heart attack, according to Fox59. She ultimately survived.
Jones' post went viral, and soon after many criticized her for being insensitive about what happened. A handful of other Facebook users with the same name received hateful messages as well.
Once her workplace, Serenity Salon, was revealed, negative reviews poured in for it on Facebook also.
It didn't take long for the salon to revoke Jones' rented space at the establishment and issue a statement saying Jones was not in line with the company's code of conduct or its expectations.
The salon also donated $500 to the victim's family to help with medical bills.
Jones has since deactivated her Facebook, and the restaurant asks that people not wrongly send hateful messages to other social media users with the same name.
