Dalia Jimenez is charged with bodily injury to a child following the alleged attack on May 13, according to KTXA-TV.

Police said that, when officers responded to the call about an injured child, Jimenez first told them the girl had been burned while lighting a candle, KTXA reported, but inconsistencies in her story made investigators suspicious.

Authorities said she eventually confessed to using rubbing alcohol to set the child on fire, but didn’t call for help for two days.

The girl, who suffered burns on her cheeks, jaw and shoulder, and a younger child were taken from the home after the incident, the news station reported.

Jimenez is free on a $20,000 bond.
