A Seattle woman was fed up with needles and garbage in her neighborhood, but when she tried to stop it she was beaten.
Cynthia Nelson told KIRO 7 homeless people living in a van had been parked outside her home for several days -- littering the lawn in front of her house with needles, trash, propane tanks and other garbage.
Nelson said that after Seattle police failed to respond to her repeated 911 calls, she decided to confront the people.
According to Nelson, she took a hammer to the van’s windows. She then was attacked, leaving her with bruises on her face.
Nelson said after the attack happened the vans and recreational vehicles on the street haven't come back.
