As the Ohio River continued to rise, citizens and law enforcement took action to save a herd of approximately 50 deer.
Gary Boswell, who owns the land where the deer were congregated, worked with Linda Williams from Misfit Island Wildlife Rescue, who guided the deer across busy Highway 41 during rush hour after police temporarily closed the road to traffic.
Law enforcement moved quickly because numerous deer had already tried to cross the highway, creating a danger to wildlife and drivers.
The deer quickly crossed the road, which reopened to traffic in approximately 5 minutes.
WEHT captured live video of the incident. The news station says the video has been viewed over half a million times.
