Surveillance cameras recorded what police are calling a targeted, brazen attack on a family of jewelry dealers outside an Alpharetta hotel. But one family member wasn't going to take it, and fought back.
Police say the North Carolina jewelry dealers had just wrapped up a show inside the Windward Parkway Marriott, and were loading up their jewelry worth tens of thousands of dollars when they were attacked.
Surveillance video shows a man backing up an SUV then attacking the family of jewelry dealers with pepper spray.
It also shows one of the family members fight back.
"I was able to catch one of the guys, and tear his mask and pull down his shirt and beat him a little," said the family member, who did not want to be identified. "I don't know just human instinct. I don't go down without a fight."
The man seen fighting back in surveillance video asked not to be identified.
The video shows the other robbers drive off leaving the robber caught by the jewelry dealer. That lone robber eventually gets away from the angry jewelry dealer.
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the people involved in the attempted robbery.
