A Florida man was paddleboarding during his lunch break Thursday when a shark nearly jumped onto the board.
Maximo Trinidad captured the encounter at Carlin Park in Jupiter, Florida, on a camera he has fitted to his paddleboard.
"As soon as I saw that big beautiful animal jumping next to me, everything went into slow motion,” Trinidad told WPTV. “ I didn't want to be on top of it and think I was a fish. Everything was so surreal. It was so cool.”

Trinidad said it was a spinner shark, which gets its name because it spins as part of its feeding strategy, according to the Florida Museum of Natural History.
“Although it can be a danger to humans, its teeth are designed for grabbing small prey rather than tearing at large prey,” according to the museum.
Trinidad started paddleboarding three years ago and has been surfing since the 1970s, according to WPBF.
This is not the first time he has crossed paths with a shark.
"On one occasion, (a shark) jumped on my left side again, 2 feet next to me, almost at eye level, and that was impressive. There was a group of surfers next to me looking at it with big eyes," Trinidad told WPTV.
After the close encounter Trinidad went back to work.
"I had to show (the video) to my co-workers," he told WPTV. "I knew I had a great shot."
