Patriots across the country rarely forget the men and women serving overseas, protecting the U.S.
But one group of soldiers don't get the recognition, or the mail, that other military members get - the dogs who are also deployed with their human counterparts.
Kylie Blake thought working military dogs needed care packages too, WTKR reported.
Kylie set out last year to raise money to be able to send toys, blankets and snacks to the four-footed heroes.
She set up a Go Fund Me page to raise $3,500 to collect and send the gifts.
So far she has raised $2,760 toward her goal and has sent more than 60 care packages to service dogs in Germany, Guam, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The site also lists the donations of items she's seeking including dog dental kits, flea and tick treatments and, of course, treats.
Kylie started the project to honor her grandfather who served four years in the military, WTKR reported.
