In a short video, Dolly Parton announced the "My People Fund" to help families affected by the wildfires in Tennessee.
In the video, she discussed how she will be establishing the "My People Fund" with the help of her Dollywood companies including Dollywood Theme Park, DreamMore Resort, Dixie Stampede, Lumberjack Adventure and the Dollywood Foundation.
The donation page can be found at dollywoodfoundation.org.
Parton has also said that the Dollywood Foundation will provide $1,000 a month for six months to those who lost everything in the fires.
Three more bodies were found Wednesday in the ruins of wildfires that torched hundreds of homes and businesses in the Great Smoky Mountains area, raising the death toll to seven, according to a Tennessee mayor.
On Tuesday Parton released this statement:
"I have been watching the terrible fires in the Great Smoky Mountains, and I am heartbroken. I am praying for all the families affected by the fire and the firefighters who are working so hard to keep everyone safe. It is a blessing that my Dollywood theme park, the DreamMore Resort and so many businesses in Pigeon Forge have been spared."
