Tampa police arrested two 17-year-old boys suspected of tying a dog to railroad tracks and shooting her.
Tampa police rescued the dog on March 4. The veterinary surgeon who treated her was able to save her leg.
"Cabela came through surgery with flying colors and four legs," Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service reported on their Facebook page. "The surgeon decided to pin it instead of amputation. It will be 6 to 8 weeks before we know whether she will regain full use and motion."

Police believe the teens bought the dog, called Cabela, for dogfighting but decided to get rid of her because she was not a good fighter.
Investigators were able to recognize someone in a surveillance video, and that person led them to the teens, they said.
