Maybe it was a late-night toddler rave, or a quick trip to McDonald's for a Happy Meal. Whatever the case, a late-night joy ride for a 2-year-old boy ended safely.
The child from Sumter County, South Carolina was found driving his battery-powered toy car down the road at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, WISTV reported.
The boy was found by a woman who called police.
Three hours later, police found tire tracks at a home. When they knocked on the door, they spoke to the parents who told police they put their son down to sleep around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Police are now warning parents to make sure they have child locks or a chain on the door so children can not get out without parents knowing, WISTV reported.
The child was returned to his parents.
