The incident happened at an apartment in Tuscaloosa after an argument between Kendrick Antwan Woods, 23, and his girlfriend, Tuscaloosanews.com reported.

The woman told police that she asked Woods to leave.

“He then came back into her apartment and pushed over the TV stand, chopping off the victim’s toes,” according to a police report.

Woods' girlfriend told police that he was aware the boy was standing in front of the TV when he pushed it over, according to Tuscaloosa News.

Woods was arrested and jailed on a $7,500 bond.

Editor’s note: The original story misidentified the man’s girlfriend as the mother of the child. She is not.
