A U.K. organization designed a public service announcement to help people understand autism, specifically sensory symptoms some people with autism experience.
"I'm not naughty, I'm autistic, and I just get too much information," the boy in the PSA said.
"We wanted people to see the looks and stares that Alexander and his mom get on a shopping trip and then perhaps ask themselves, 'Have they done that before?'" Mark Lever of The National Autistic Society said.
One study found 94 percent of children on the autism spectrum had trouble dealing with sensory information.
The video kicked off World Autism Awareness Week. April is Autism Awareness Month in the U.S.
"At the very heart of autism awareness is simply a willingness to accept different. Different skin colors, body types, beliefs and, especially, different minds," a mother said in an Autism Speaks video.
