1. Thailand explosions: A series of bomb explosions across Thailand has killed four and wounded dozens. Authorities there say at least 10 foreigners were injured. The bombs were exploded in areas popular with tourists. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the coordinated attacks.
2. Phelps, Biles, Manuel win: It was a golden night for the United States at the Summer Olympic Games. Michael Phelps won his 22nd Olympic medal when he came in first in the 200-meter individual medley; gymnast Simone Biles won gold in all-around individual competition and USA's Simone Manuel became the first Afro-American to win gold in an Olympic swimming competition when she tied Canada's Penny Oleksiak in the 100-meter freestyle. A story from The New York Times said one of the recently releases emails showed "an executive at the Clinton Foundation in 2009 sought to put a billionaire donor in touch with the U.S. ambassador to Lebanon because of the donor's interests there. In another email, the foundation appeared to push aides to Clinton to help find a job for a foundation associate. Her aides indicated that the department was working on the request." The State Department turned over 44 new emails as part of a lawsuit brought by Judicial Watch, a conservative advocacy group.
4. Another amusement park accident: A 3-year-old boy fell from a roller coaster Thursday in Pennsylvania, marking the fourth amusement park accident in five days in the United States. The boy's parents requested no information be released on his condition. He was airlifted from the amusement park in Ligonier, Pa., to a hospital in Pittsburgh 50 miles away. The accident comes days after a 10-year-old boy was killed on a water slide in Kansas.
5. Sandusky to testify: Jerry Sandusky, a former college assistant football coach who was convicted of sexually abusing 10 boys during his tenure at Penn State University, will testify in court Friday, claiming he should have a new trial because he had inadequate representation from his attorneys. Sandusky says his attorneys in the sexually assault trial made numerous poor decisions including not calling him to the stand to testify in his own defense. The hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. ET.
