1. VP debate: Republican Mike Pence and Democrat Tim Kaine will meet tonight in Virginia for the vice presidential debate. Elaine Quijano, anchor for CBSN, the digital streaming network for CBS, will moderate the only meeting of the two vice presidential candidates. The debate begins at 9 p.m. ET.
2. Hurricane Matthew: Hurricane Matthew will be moving over Haiti Tuesday morning, bringing winds of 145 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center. The storm, the strongest Atlantic hurricane in nearly a decade, is likely to dump more than 40 inches of rain as it moves through the Caribbean. The hashtag #prayforHaiti was trending early Tuesday morning on Twitter.
3. New Google phone: Google is expected to reveal its new smartphone on Tuesday. The phones, according to rumors, are made by HTC, and are called Pixel. According to USA Today, the phones will have minimum storage of 32 GB and feature 12 megapixel rear cameras. Google Photos will allow users free unlimited photo backups.
4. Kardashian shaken: According to reports, reality star Kim Kardashian is still "badly shaken" after being robbed at gunpoint in a Paris hotel. Kardashian was tied up and locked in the bathroom as five men stole more than $11 million in jewelry from her room. The thieves took one ring that, alone, was worth $4.5 million. Kardashian's two small children were not with her when the robbery took place, according to sources.
5. Boy Scout award overturned: Connecticut's Supreme Court on Monday overturned a ruling that gave a former Boy Scout a $12 million award in a sexual assault case brought against the organization in 2012. According to Monday's ruling, the court said the jury should have been told the Boy Scouts could only be held liable for the assault if the man who brought the suit proved the group's conduct increased the odds that abuse could take place. The court ordered a new trial. The man who brought the suit, claims he was sexually assaulted by an older scout in the 1970s. The older scout was his patrol leader.

Law enforcement sources say they are focusing on whether doctors illegally prescribed opioids to pop star Prince, and whether the drug that killed him, fentanyl, came from the black-market. Prince was found dead on April 21 in an elevator at his suburban Minneapolis estate. He was 57. The investigation into his death is ongoing, according to police.
