After a 24-hour manhunt, law enforcement arrested the man they believe shot and killed New Orleans Police Officer Daryle Holloway.
The arrest of Travis Boys Sunday ends the search but the investigation is not over.
Here is some more information about the suspect and what's next:
Who is Travis Boys?
Boys, 33, has a criminal record and history of trying to elude law enforcement.
He pleaded guilty to separate escape and attempted escape charges in 2005 and 2000, according to the Times-Picayune.
He slipped his handcuffs from behind his back before shooting Holloway in Saturday's escape.
Other previous charges include child cruelty and possession of stolen property, according to the New Orleans Advocate.
Boys also was initially arrested and charged with aggravated assault and outstanding warrants when he shot and killed Holloway.
What happened?
Holloway was shot while taking Boys to central lockup Saturday morning. Holloway crashed the SUV they were in, then Boys crawled through a hole from the back seats to the front before fleeing.
Investigators recovered two firearms in the vehicle, a .38-caliber revolver, believed to be used in the initial battery charge and a .40-caliber Smith and Wesson, believed to be the weapon used to shoot Holloway, according to investigators.
Holloway's firearm was still in its holster.
How was Boys found?
After a 24-hour manhunt, a rookie officer and his trainer spotted Boys' broken handcuff as he was trying to board a bus Sunday morning, according to the Associated Press.
Boys eluded law enforcement helicopters and police K-9s.
At one point officers found Boys driving a gray pickup truck. After a short chase, Boys crashed the truck and then fled on foot.

The investigation continues. Officials still don't know how Boys' hid the weapon that killed Holloway or how he evaded K-9 and helicopter teams.
Funeral arrangements for Holloway are pending.
