The first debate among Democratic presidential hopefuls will take place Tuesday night.
Here are some of the specifics for the debate:
- When and where: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, at the Wynn in Las Vegas, Nev.
- What time: Coverage of the debate begins at 8:30 p.m. (ET) on CNN or at CNNgo. The debate will air from 9 p.m.-11 p.m.
- Hosted by: CNN and Facebook
- Where will it air: The debate will air on CNN, CNN International and CNN en Español. You can connect to a livestream of the debate at CNN.com's homepage and on the CNN Politics' live blog. Westwood One News will also air the debate live.
- What are the channel numbers: CNN - (DirecTV - channel 202); (Dish Network - channel 200); (ATT U-verse - channel 202 in most markets)
- Moderator: CNN's Anderson Cooper is moderating the debate and will be joined by Dana Bash and Juan Carlos Lopez.
- Who's in: Democratic presidential nominee hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O'Malley, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee have agreed to participate in the debate.
- Who may be: Vice President Joe Biden -- who has not entered the race -- has been invited to the debate, but has not accepted. According those close to the vice president, he is still trying to decide if he will persue the Democratic nomination for president.
- The order: Hillary Clinton will be in the center spot on the stage tonight, and, according to CNN, the highest polling candidates will be next to her -- Bernie Sanders on her right and Martin O'Malley to her left. Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee will be on opposite sides of the stage next to O'Malley and Sanders. The position is based on poll averages compiled since August 1. No word on where a podium for Joe Biden will be placed should he decide to participate.
- Likely issues: While we don't know for sure, the issues likely to be raised include:
- The recent nuclear deal with Iran
- Immigration polices
- President Obama's trade deal
- Hillary Clinton's emails
- Policing polices in the U.S.
- The next one: The next debate for the Democratic candidates is set for Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday, Nov. 14. The debate will be sponsored by CBS News, KCCI, and The Des Moines Register. It will be aired on CBS. John Dickerson will be the moderator.
- Misc: Sheryl Crow will perform The National Anthem. Donald Trump will live tweet the debate. Bill Clinton is in town but says he will not attend the debate.
