A young fast-food worker warmed the hearts of people all over the world for his kind actions that were caught on camera.
Kailen Young, 17, works at a Knoxville Hardee’s location. He was captured on camera helping an elderly female customer to her car.
David Yardley is the one who captured the heartwarming image. He sent it to Hardee's, which posted the photo on the company's Facebook page, where it has earned over 16,000 likes.
Young’s good deed captured the attention of Hardee’s management as well. The young man was awarded $1,000 in appreciation of his act of kindness.
For his part, Young told WBIR that he's surprised by all of the attention, as his actions on that day were just normal for him. He says the outpouring of positive response is heartwarming and humbling.
Bobbi Clare, the woman Young helped to the car said, “I felt a little touch of heaven, that kindness and goodness in the world.”
Young says he plans on attending college to study engineering.
