Rescue crews responded to the scene of a bad crash in Charlotte, North Carolina after a SUV was stuck upright, hanging from lines on a power pole early Thursday morning.
First responders arrived at crash around 7:45 a.m. and found the Lexus SUV suspended from an eletrical line attached to the pole.
Firefighters said the driver was still inside the vehicle when they arrived and it took a few minutes to free that person, who they said climbed into the back seat of the SUV after the crash.
Police said the driver suffered non life-threatening injuries. He was treated on the scene and will be OK.
Officers said the SUV was coming off an interstate ramp, and think a mechanical issue may have contributed to the crash.
Police said the driver would not be cited.
Officials were urging motorists to avoid the area as the intersection was closed while crews worked to remove the SUV from the pole.
