Stork hunkers down in zoo bathroom during Hurricane Matthew
A stork found refuge from Hurricane Matthew by riding out the storm in a public restroom.
The St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park spent two days preparing for the hurricane, including finding housing for its birds, reptiles and mammals, zoo officials said.
“No species discrimination in this bathroom,” the zoo wrote in a Facebook post with an image of the marabou stork.
The zoo is closed through Saturday because of the storm.
