A series of explosions and huge plumes of smoke were reported at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Thursday.
NASA says SpaceX was conducting a test firing of its unmanned rocket when the blast occurred Thursday morning, according to The Associated Press. The test was in advance of a planned Saturday launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
Witnesses reported that buildings several miles away shook from the blast. The incident caused multiple explosions.
The rocket was scheduled to hoist an Israeli satellite Saturday.
No information was immediately available from officials on the source or cause of the explosions, according to WFTV.
This is a developing story, return for updates.
