Dating website Match.com announced the results of its 6th annual Singles in America survey Monday.
The survey polled over 5,000 singles across the U.S. on their thoughts on first and second dates, sex, politics, exes and general trends.
Here are some of the most surprising stats from the survey.
- Talking about politics on the first date increases chances of a second date by 91 percent.
- A 2 1/2 hour first date gives the highest chance of a second date.
- Using the phrase "on fleek" decreases chances of a second date by 26 percent.
- Using "LOL" or "haha" increases chances of a second date by 255 percent.
- Austin, Texas, has the most expensive dates in the country, with an average cost of $81.42.
- The least expensive place in the country for a date is in Portland, Oregon, costing $45.53.
- Over 70 percent of those on a date with a man prefer he be clean-shaven, regardless of age or sexuality.
- Forty percent of singles surveyed are Democrats, compared to 19 percent Republicans. Twenty-four percent are not affiliated with any party.
- Drinking cocktails on a first-date increases second date odds by 137 percent.
- Thirty-six percent of women would "ghost" Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, meaning they would avoid contact with him until he didn't contact them any more.
