A Mississippi man made a shocking find while he was walking by a creek bank near his Hinds County home – two puppies sealed inside an aquarium.
According to WAPT, Matt Williamson spotted the trapped dogs while he was searching for his own pet. The top of the aquarium was cemented shut, he said.
"They put them in here to drown," he told WAPT. "They wanted these puppies to drown in here."
Williamson called Hinds County sheriff's deputies, who rescued the puppies. The dogs are now at the Mississippi Animal Rescue League.
"We think they are a little feral (and) not used to human handling," animal league director Debra Boswell told WAPT.
Despite running a fever, the puppies seem healthy, WAPT reported.
