Oregon police said a "shirtless" woman stole a U.S. Postal Service truck Thursday and hit a passenger bus. The woman then drove away, flipped the vehicle about a mile away from the crash and then led police on a chase before she was apprehended, according to The Oregonian.
Portland police responded to a report of a stolen mail truck shortly after noon, the newspaper reported. The truck crashed into a TriMet paratransit bus that had three people, including the driver, onboard, KOIN-TV reported.
The woman drove away before flipping the damaged truck about a mile from the crash scene, The Oregonian reported.
Portland police spokesman Lt. Brad Yakots told the newspaper the woman was wearing a blue jacket when she allegedly stole the mail truck, but then, “She emerged from the flipped truck shirtless and tried to run away from officers."
Police chased the woman for 12 blocks before apprehending her, according to The Oregonian.
The woman was not hurt but was taken to a hospital after she asked for medical help, KOIN reported.
Nobody on the bus was injured, police said.
