Traffic was backed up along a highway in Indiana for hours after a semitruck carrying 41 tons of honey lost control and spilled containers on to the roadway.
According to Indiana State Police Sgt. Ann Wojas, the truck was hauling amber honey along Interstate 80/94 through Hammond, Indiana, The Associated Press reported. The driver lost control Wednesday morning after the truck’s front axle failed.
WTHR reported that the driver said diesel fuel was leaking from the truck, which he just refueled.
Police said the sticky spill will mean an extended clean up, according to WLS. There were no injuries reported.
Police encouraged drivers to find alternate routes.
