A Jacksonville elementary school plans to offer its students a gun safety class.
A letter from Kernan Trail Elementary School went home to parents Monday asking to give students permission to attend the Eddie Eagle Gun Safe Program.
The program is for students in pre-K through third grade to learn what to do if they discover a gun.
The letter says 25 million children across the country have used the program to learn accident prevention gun safety.
