Sasquatch: Portland's new crossing guard

Sasquatch has a new job: He’s helping remind drivers to pay extra attention on the roads now that school is back in session.

The fuzzy giant was seen escorting kids to Cesar Chavez School Wednesday morning as part of a unique crosswalk safety exercise you’ll probably only see in Portland.

KOIN News writes that the Portland Bureau of Transportation organized the exercise as a way to remind drivers to be alert on the roads now that kids are heading back to school.

“I’m just trying to send a message,” Sasquatch told KOIN 6 News. “I hope that if they’ll stop for me, they’ll stop for the little creatures on the road.”
