Sarah Palin's husband, Todd, remains in intensive care Tuesday but is recovering after suffering multiple injuries in a snowmobile accident Sunday.

The former governor of Alaska detailed her husband's injuries -- which included a collapsed lung and multiple broken and fractured ribs -- early Tuesday.

"Knowing Todd, once he's cognizant, he'll probably ask docs to duct tape him up and he'll call it good," Sarah Palin wrote in a social media post. "He's tough."

He remains hospitalized.

Sarah Palin first shared news of her husband's condition Monday afternoon in a Facebook post attributed to her family.

"Thank you for your prayers as he recovers following a snowmachine accident last night," the Palins said. "You know, your prayers have meant so much to our family over the years and I've not thanked you enough for providing us that shield of faith. …

"As any adventurous Alaska knows, while you may be down, you're never out."

On Monday, the former GOP vice presidential candidate was expected to appear at an event for Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump in The Villages, Florida, but canceled after her husband's accident to be by his side, according to the Trump campaign.

"Gov. Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon," the campaign said in a statement Monday. "Mr. Trump's thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time."

Before heading back across the country, Sarah Palin unexpectedly appeared at a Trump event in Tampa, where she thanked the gathered crowd for their prayers, according to NPR.
