Two people were injured, one with major injuries, after an employee at Great America was hit in the head by the Flight Deck roller coaster Friday night, according to preliminary reports from Santa Clara, Calif.
A source told a local TV station "the employee was alert and talking when first responders arrived."
The park employee's injuries were described as "traumatic," and another person's hand was injured and possibly broken, according to one report.
Witnesses told a local TV station the park employee was injured "while trying to retrieve a dropped cell phone near the ride's platform."
