Report: Armed George Zimmerman stopped by Texas cops

Celebrity gossip site TMZ is reporting that George Zimmerman has been stopped by Texas cops Sunday for speeding. During the traffic stop, Zimmerman revealed to the officer that he did have a gun in his truck's glove compartment.

Zimmerman was speeding in Forney, Texas on Sunday, just after noon, when he was stopped by police.  Zimmerman told cops he was headed "nowhere in particular," and informed them he had a firearm in his glove compartment.

Zimmerman was given a warning, after cops determined he was free of warrants.  He was sent on his way with a polite goodbye, "Have a safe trip."

Jurors have found former neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old black teenager Trayvon Martin.

The six-member, all-woman jury deliberated for more than 15 hours over two days before reaching their decision Saturday night.

Zimmerman was to get his gun back from the collection of evidence, but the federal Department of Justice has taken the gun and evidence as part of a federal civil rights investigation.
