Need someone to hang out with, with no romantic intentions, just a friend and no one is around?

Well, as the saying goes, there's an app for that.

It's called RentAFriend.comKTNV reported.

The television station hooked up with one of the rental friends to see what it is like.

Nikki Souza, who is paid $30 an hour for her friendly services, says it's like being a private tour guide as she shows complete strangers around Las Vegas, KTNV reported.

She signed up to be a friend back in 2013 and has gone on dozens of outings over the past six years.

The service was created by Scott Rosembaum as a competition of sorts to dating apps.

"There are plenty of dating websites out there. When I started Rent-A-Friend I wanted it to be the opposite of a dating website," Rosembaum told KTNV.

The friendship comes at a cost and there are rules that should be followed.

A monthly membership fee is set at $24.95 or $69.95 a year. Then the members can charge from $20 to $50 for their newly found friends, KTNV reported.

As for the rules, the site suggests to always meet in a public situation, limit how much you drink, have your own transportation and be upfront with expectations, keeping in mind the service offers only friendship.

According to RentAFriend.com, there are more than 621,585 friends signed up for the service.
