A puppy found in the wreckage of a fatal semi crash on I-71 in Greene County, Ohio, Tuesday morning will be reunited with the victim’s family.
State troopers investigating the crash that killed semi-truck driver Robert Major, 36, said the puppy was found on the floor of the crushed semi cab. The puppy is doing fine.
Major was killed when he slammed his truck in to the back of another semi that was attempting to pull over and stop for a suspected flat tire.
A 40,000 pound steel coil slid into Major’s cab, killing him.
Troopers said Major’s puppy likely survived only because of its small size.
The pup was examined by a local veterinarian.
The owner of Major’s semi truck is going to make sure the puppy is returned to Major’s family in Augusta, Kentucky.
