Prince Harry has officially confirmed his relationship with American actress Meghan Markle.
The royal family released a somber letter on their Facebook page Tuesday confirming the pair.
According to the royals, Markle's family has received harassment since the rumors of their relationship started making news in the last few weeks.
"Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her," the statement read. "It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm."
Actress Meghan Markle of the television legal drama "Suits" met the prince in Toronto in May while he was in town for the start of the Invictus Games. Markle shared several photos from her London vacation over the summer, including one outside Buckingham Palace.
Among those interested in meeting Markle: the Duchess of Cambridge.
"Kate is really keen to see what Meghan is all about," an insider told US Weekly.
She and Prince William will reportedly meet the “Suits” actress during Markle's next trip to London.
