Thousands of pounds of corn dogs and hot dogs sold nationwide are under recall because of a possible listeria contamination.

Oklahoma-based Bar-S Foods Co. and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service on Tuesday announced the recall of various ready-to-eat chicken and pork hot dogs and corn dogs. About 373,000 pounds of products fell under the recall.

The recalled foods were produced between July 10 and July 13. They have establishment No. "EST. P-81A" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The company released the following list of recalled products:

The recall is precautionary, according to the USDA, and tests to confirm a contamination of listeria monocytogenes were not complete. Instead, the measure was prompted by "recurring listeria species issues at the firm."

There have been no confirmed reports of illnesses related to the foods, officials said.

Eating foods contaminated with listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an infection that can cause fever, muscle aches, confusion, loss of balance and other problems. Older adults, people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women and their newborns are primary effected.
