According to police, the woman was standing near a corner in lower Manhattan when she was confronted at 12:45 a.m., WPIX reported.

The woman told police the man demanded sex. When she refused, the man punched her multiple times in the face, causing several lacerations, bruising, a broken eye socket and the loss of some of her teeth, the television station reported.

The attacker then took $20 from the woman's purse before fleeing, police said.

Police describe the man as 6 feet tall and slim. He was last wearing a red tracksuit and gray and white Nike sneakers, WABC reported.
