Kevin Bacon is in trouble with police in Vermont.

No, not the actor -- this Kevin Bacon is a 55-year-old Vermont man who police said sideswiped a police cruiser Thursday while looking down at his cellphone, WCAX reported.

Police in Thetford said Bacon was searching on his cellphone for an episode from the 1990s television comedy, "Saved by the Bell" while he was driving on I-91, the television station reported. According to police, Bacon sideswiped a police cruiser parked in the breakdown lane of the interstate. The cruiser's blue lights were flashing.

Bacon allegedly fled the scene but was stopped a mile away, WCAX reported.

According to a Vermont State Police report, Bacon was was trying to call up the 1992 episode, "Screech's Spaghetti Sauce," HuffPost reported. According to IMDB, the episode, from the series' fourth season centers on Screech's spaghetti sauce that becomes a hit on a local television show.

Bacon was charged with gross negligent operation, leaving the scene of a crash, texting while driving, and operation on approach of emergency vehicles. WCAX reported.

Bacon will appear in court July 31, HuffPost reported.
