A 1,000-pound polar bear was rescued after becoming entangled in a fishing net in Alaska.
The U.S. Geological Survey shared the rescue story and photos over their Facebook page.
On Saturday, the USGS and U.S. Fish and Wildlife—with help from the local community of Kaktovik—successfully freed the polar bear.
The bear was first sedated.
After biologists determined the bear was not injured, it was released back into the wild.
