A mom is thanking two Payless employees who went above and beyond for her daughter, when she wanted a pair of shoes mom couldn't afford.
Katy Sypher-Piper explained in a Facebook post that she saw Payless was having a BoGo sale. She went in the store with a strict $30 budget to get shoes for her kids.
But her 2-1/2-year-old daughter immediately fell in love with a pair of boots that featured the princesses from "Frozen." The boots were about $44, well over her $30 budget for two pairs of shoes.
That's when employees at the store in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, stepped in and offered to pay for the shoes themselves.
Sypher-Piper said her daughter has been dealing with medical problems and the small act of kindness meant so much to her.
"I have been pretty down lately and this act of kindness is so amazing and uplifting to me. I am so grateful," Sypher-Piper wrote.
She shared the story and photos with Payless. Sypher-Piper said she visited the employees who bought the shoes for her, and they told her they got a call from someone in the corporate office who had seen the post.
Sypher-Piper also set up a GoFundMe page after people online asked to help her financially.
