An already disappointing Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl for Ole Miss got much, much worse for one fan.
According to Fox Sports, Joseph Martin was in Atlanta for the New Year's Eve game at the Georgia Dome with his family and went home with a $908 Uber bill.
Martin told Fox Sports he fell asleep in an Uber accidentally headed for Mississippi, and awoke in Alabama.
Channel 2 Action News reached out to Uber and a representative says Martin's trip never actually left the Atlanta area.
It started in the Atlanta area, but didn't cross state lines, the representative said.
"That was the result of the surge pricing and high demand, and the inputting of an incorrect address," the representative said.
Because of the mistake, Uber says they are working with the customer to lower the fare.
It was unclear what the exact address that was input for the trip was. Uber would not give details on the address, citing privacy reasons.
They said that there are no limits on trips, and that if a customer requested a ride to Mississippi, they would be taken there. Uber said they have no mileage or radius limits on their trips.
Martin posted a picture of the ride reciept on Intagram:
He even tweeted about his Christmas bonus when asked if it was a hoax:
If that isn't enough proof, Martin's cousin tweeted this picture of the charge on his debit card:
Channel 2 Action News has reached out to Martin on Twitter, but have not heard back.
