The ride-sharing start-up, Sidecar, has paired up with Meadow, a medical marijuana company, offering customers door-to-door services in San Francisco.
The partnership allows customers to place orders from licensed local dispensaries and receive marijuana through Sidecar’s delivery service.
"We've worked closely with Meadow to create a curated delivery experience that is compliant with California medical marijuana laws," according to a Reuters wire published on the Huffington Post.
Sidecar has taken steps to ensure that all customers comply with the state’s laws by checking their ID and medical card, as well as ensuring safe deliveries to people that rely on medical marijuana for treatment.
“The California Department of Public Health was not immediately available to comment on the legality of using a third-party to deliver the drug,” the story said.
