A Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission officer can boast about the python he captured — although he can’t win prizes.
As part of the 2016 Python Challenge, an FWC officer found a 16-foot, 10-inch python Monday getting some sun on a levy at the Rocky Glades Small Game Area in the Everglades.
According to the FWC's Facebook page, the huge python was humanely euthanized and turned over to a drop-off location so scientists can get valuable data.
Unfortunately, FWC personnel can’t win prizes during the challenge.
Individuals and teams can still sign up for the competition by clicking here.
