In Jefferson County, Colorado, a bear was found locked inside a Subaru SUV. It managed to destroy a majority of the interior, due to panic.
"He's tossing stuff in the back, basically, and then you can see the ceiling of my car just ripped and I was, like, 'I'm not going to work today,'" car owner Annie Bruecker, 17, told KDVR-TV.
"Deputies could tell by all the moisture on the windows that he'd clearly been inside for a while," wrote the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office to Facebook. "Given the size of the bear, they also wondered if there was a momma bear nearby."
Although officials are unsure of how the bear entered the car, they noticed that no windows or door handles were broken, so the medium-sized bear apparently closed the door behind it when entering.
Jefferson County Deputy McLaughlin and Deputy Tillman worked together to manually open the door for the bear to exit. Immediately, the bear ran off into the woods, never looking back.
The inside of Bruecker's car was destroyed. The entire rescue was captured on camera.
