A fight involving about 100 people broke out at Kennywood Amusement Park Saturday evening - the park's opening day.

A police source said that the fight started in Kiddie Land, and continued at a McDonald’s across the street when they were kicked out of the park.

A statement from Kennywood confirmed four people were injured, although the injuries were minor.

“The first and foremost priority of Kennywood is providing a safe and family-friendly atmosphere for our guests,” the statement said.

Kennywood officials asked for crowd control assistance from nearby police departments because a large group of teenagers became “disruptive and created an uncomfortable situation for other patrons of the park.”

The park will be closed Sunday but will reopen to guests on May 9.
