Fox News host Megyn Kelly is no fan of CNN's decision to hire Donald Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski after he found himself on the receiving end of a pink slip Monday following a meeting with Trump and his children.

Days later, news broke that CNN had hired Lewandowski as a paid contributor. Kelly on Thursday slammed that hiring move on her show.

During a segment with media critic and former CNN host Howard Kurtz, Kelly said Lewandowski "threatened more than one journalist in the course of this campaign," including CNN's Noah Gray. Lewandowski told Gray last year to "get back in the pen or he's (expletive) blacklisted." He also reportedly pushed Gray away from Trump.

Lewandowski was the subject of an investigation earlier this year after he grabbed a Breitbart reporter's arm to prevent her from approaching Trump to ask a question after a campaign event.

Kelly noted that Lewandowski "has had some very ugly language attributed to him when it comes to women, and now he will be getting paid by Donald Trump one day and by CNN the next."

Kurtz said, "For CNN to hire him 12 minutes after he was fired is, to use one of Trump's famous words, sad. It's really sad."

It was evident that Lewandowski had a connection to CNN when he quickly granted CNN his first televised interview after his firing Monday.

He remained loyal to Trump in that interview and still does. Lewandowski likely signed a confidentiality agreement, as Kurtz pointed out, so he won't say a bad word about his former boss.

"Watching Corey tonight, it almost seemed like he was still on Trump's payroll, because he was defending him at every possible turn," Kurtz said.

"So it's not honest analysis," Kelly added. "Think about the CNN reporter, the one who he threatened. I hope they don't bump into each other in the green room. That's going to be awkward. It's really remarkable."

Some Twitter users agreed the hiring seems out of place.
